The "In Him" Realities (Part I)

Updated: 4 days ago

When you are in Christ, know that what the Bible says about Christ is actually about you because Gal 2:20 says that you have been crucified with Him. In Him, you have shared in His crucifixion; it is no longer you that live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in you. 1 Jn 4:17 saysHerein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world”. There are many realtities that explain your real life in Christ. The following are a few of them

1. IN HIM ALL PROMISES ARE YES AND AMEN (2 Cor 1:18-20).

All the promises of God are Yes and we say Amen to the glory of God. Is 55:11 (AMP) says: "So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. God is forever faithful to His word." All the promises God had made from the beginning have been fulfilled in Christ (Gen 3:15; Gal 3:16). The Word He had declared, He watched over it and cause it to become a reality. The seed of the woman has finally crushed the head of the serpent and those who are in Christ now walk in victory. Hallelujah!

2. IN HIM WE ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD (2 Cor 5:21).

The righteousness of God is the rightness of God in the human spirit. I.e. We are the proof that God is right. We are the living proof that God was just and right from the beginning. Righteousness is a gift from God Rom 5:17 which cannot be taken back as the giftings and calling of God are without repentance. This truth is worth celebrating.

3. IN HIM WE ARE RIGHTEOUS (Rom 5:1; 1 Pt 2:24).

It is a fulfillment of Is 32:1. We have been justified i.e. made righteous, given a right standing with God, put right with God, all of these through faith in Christ Jesus. We are righteous because we have come in contact with Christ who is righteous. Did you know that if a righteous person (a believer) comes in contact with an unrighteous person/thing (a sick, possessed person etc), the unrighteous person/thing becomes righteous? In Christ, God made it so; that’s why by the laying of your hands you shall cast out demons.

Another reason why we are righteous is that Christ did away with the Law; for where there is no law, there is no sin (Rom 5:13). Adam brought offence into existence, making him and his descendants sinners. Death (separation from God) came as a result of sin and it reigned on everyone, even on those who did not break the Law like Adam. They died because sin reigned irrespective of their good deeds. But Christ brought Grace and by His death, people became righteous and now have eternal life (Rom 5:14-17).

4. IH HIM WE ARE THE CHOSEN (1 Pt 2:9; Eph 1:11).

In every generation, God has His own chosen ones, to show that He is God and by working through them, He shows that He is alive. E.g. in the OT, Israel was chosen. In this generation, we are the Chosen. We were chosen even before the creation of the world (Eph 1:4). We have been called (Rom 8:28, 30). Because He called us, He justified us, declared us free and no one can change it. You are the Chosen of the Lord!

Let this revelational knowledge cause you to jump on your feet and shout in victory! See you in the next edition of this blog. In the meantime, allow this truth to sink in.
